Some examples of online word games which can be played with a group of friends include Family Feud Online Party, Trivial Pursuit Silver Screen and Merriam Webster's Spell-Jam. While all of these games can be played against other players, some of them also allow solitary play modes, as well. Merriam Webster's Spell-Jam even allows players to use a practice mode before competing against others.
